George Anastasia
George Anastasia is a former reporter for the Philadelphia Inquirer who has spent more than 30 years writing about organized and disorganized crime. His topics have included casino gambling in Atlantic City, mob hits in Philadelphia and criminal prosecutions throughout the country. He is currently a freelance writer and author specializing in crime reporting.
He is the author of seven books and two anthologies, including "Blood and Honor" which Jimmy Breslin called "the best gangster book ever written."
His other books are NYT bestsellers "The Summer Wind" about the Thomas Capano-Anne Marie Fahey murder case and "The Last Gangster” the story of Philadelphia-South Jersey mobster-turned-informant Ron Previte. His other books include "The Goodfella Tapes,” "Mobfather" and , “Gotti’s Rules.”
His work at The Inquirer also formed the basis for two true crime anthologies, "Mob Files" and "Philadelphia True Noir," both published by Camino Books. He is also the author of a novella, "The Big Hustle" (Philadelphia Inquirer Books, 2001).
Born in South Philadelphia and raised in southern New Jersey, Anastasia is a graduate of Dartmouth College (1969) with a B.A. in French Literature. He is an adjunct professor/lecturer at Rowan University where he teaches courses on organized crime and journalism.
Dave Schratwieser
MobTalk Sitdown host Dave Schratwieser is a veteran, Emmy Award winning journalist who has worked for over 25 years at Fox29 in Philadelphia. He also worked at WCAU and NJN Network as a TV reporter. Dave was communications director to the NJ Attorney General and deputy press secretary to the governor in NJ in the early 90s. He covered the Persian Gulf War, 911 in NYC and countless crime and Mob related stories in Philadelphia over the years. He was also an investigative reporter for a Fox Undercover.
Bryan Zilai
MobTalk Sitdown cameraman/editor Bryan Zilai is a veteran Emmy award winning tv news photojournalist in Philadelphia. He has worked side by side with Dave Schratwieser covering major events like: 9/11 NYC, multiple Hurricanes, Phillies and Eagles Championships, countless crime scenes, and undercover investigations. He’s a family man and outdoor enthusiast.
